Oyster documentary has world premiere at Canberra International Film Festival

The new Australian documentary Oyster will premiere twice later this month, on different continents. It's not so much a doubling-up as a happy coincidence, and a coup for the filmmakers.

The first event, a world premiere, takes place on October 28 at the Canberra International Film Festival. The second, that same day, is on the east coast of the US, in Chesapeake, a region famous for its seafood, especially its clams, crabs and oysters.

After years of filming and almost nine months of editing, a documentary about a family of Merimbula oyster farmers is ready to hit the big screen.

Oyster is now complete and is set to premiere at the Canberra International Film Festival on Saturday, October 28.
